Our mission is to provide hope and compassionate support to cancer and organ transplant patients and their caregivers in a "home away from home" setting. Located on the West campus of Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, Gabriel House of Care is a hospital hospitality house - a place where far from home oncology and organ transplant patients and their caregivers have more than just a convenient place to stay during a trying medical time. Gabriel House of Care is a well appointed facility, with 29 guest rooms; spacious great room, dining room and state-of-the art guest kitchen; a variety of relaxtion areas; and a screened lanai overlooking Serenity Lake.
Volunteers are an integral part of any non-profit and Gabriel House of Care is no exception. We are fortunate to have the best volunteers around and greatly appreciate their time, talent and dedication to improving the lives of others.
Our volunteers are vital members of a dynamic team that works together to provide a "home away from home" for families temporarily staying in Jacksonville while undergoing treatment pertaining to cancer and organ transplant care.
Additional helping hands are needed to manage the "House," support our guests and assist with special projects and fundraising events.
Volunteer opportunities are available seven days a week in convenient time frames to complement the needs of the house, our guests and the schedules of our volunteers.
Required: Completion of a Volunteer Application, interview, House tour, orientation and training.
