To promote and advance the social well being and welfare of its members by providing much-needed community and resettlement services, with ultimate goal of building vibrant community, whose members can successfully settle and affectively integrate into wider American Community.

Description

The Somali Community Resettlement Services, Inc. was founded in 1999 in Minnesota including the Southeastern Minnesota by members of the Somali immigrant community in Minnesota in response to the many service needs that the new Somali immigrants faced. The mission of the organization is to help the Somali immigrants in the county assimilate into their new community and lead productive and financially independent lives by providing the necessary services they need that were not available in their community.

The services the organization provides include interpretation, translation, information and referrals, classroom training computers, mathematics and electronic assembly), orientation for newly arrived refugees, pre-and post-employment support, youth sports program, health educational programs and the Rochester Somali TV which broadcasts all programs in Somali.

The services were provided to Refugee community estimated at 75,000 in southern and Northern Minnesota. The organization provides the services through the following funded and volunteer programs:
