Mission Statement

The Trails Program is an effort by the City of Seattle to Restore and maintain the trails throughout our Cityà ¢à  à  s forested Parks. Our Goal is involve the public in projects that help create a trails system that is safe for use by people of all ages and abilities. While striving to keep a balance with the surrounding Habitat and wildlife, in order to foster and promote local stewardship in our beautiful City.

Description

Work Parties are geared towards people of all ages and abilities. Having fun, working safely, and at oneà ¢à  à  s own pace are required! Projects include brushing back overgrown vegetation, resurfacing muddy or unstable trails, installing new trail structures, addressing surface water issues, closing and reforesting barren or damaged areas and removing non-native plant species. In other words, you will be working with hand tools (i.e. digging, sawing, chopping, raking, etcà ¢à  à ¦) Are we having fun yet?!
