Mission Statement

To eliminate hunger by distributing food and grocery products through a network of community- and faith-based nonprofit organizations while increasing community awareness on issues of hunger.

Description

The Food Bank, a nonprofit center for food distribution, is a member of America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization. The Food Bank procures donated surplus food and transfers it in usable quantities to hungry people throughout West Texas through more than 200 community- and faith-based nonprofit organizations in 22 West Texas counties including after-school programs, residential treatment programs, food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, senior citizen centers, low-income daycare centers, and social service centers.
