Description

The Citizen Advocacy Program creates and supports one-to-one relationships to ensure a person with a developmental disabilty knows their rights and has a voice, in the situation where a person may not have the ability to speak for themselves we ask that the advocate speak in their partners best interest. The volunteer advocate can take on formal and/or informal roles such as representative payee, guardian, mentor, friend. We ask advocates to be loyal to their partner and have no conflict of interest with services their partner may be receiving.
