Mission statement: ...reaching out to encourage a lifelong journey of global peace and understanding

Council for Educational Travel, U.S.A. ( CETUSA) is a non-profit, global exchange organization dedicated to helping people from different cultures develop more compassion and understanding for one another.

Since 1995, together with international partners and academic institutions from over 50 countries, CETUSA has helped tens of thousands of students, families, young professionals and employers benefit from the integration of diverse cultures. Our programs provide a unique opportunity to share the experiences of daily living, education and professional life. CETUSA programs help to improve mutual understanding and communication between people in the United States and other nations of the world.

CETUSA’s vision is to build a world of global friendships through high-quality, global exchange experiences by providing reliable, compassionate support to all program participants. We believe in a program based on integrity, knowledge and open, honest communication; this is the foundation on which we set the industry standard of excellence!

CETUSA operates all of its programs in accordance with the regulations of the United States Department of State and is designated to issue the DS-2019 enabling program participants to obtain the J-1 visa. We are fully accredited by the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel ( CSIET), an organization that evaluates exchange organizations. CETUSAendorses and upholds CSIET standards and the U.S. State Department’s regulations.

Description

CETUSA’s High School Program allows students to spend a semester or full academic year in America attending a public high school. Attending a public high school allows students to improve their English skills, earn credit for classes taken and gain invaluable life experience. They are able to enjoy all of the benefits of America’s unique education system while experiencing first-hand what it is like to be an American teenager.

Our program participants are further involved in American culture by living with a host family. CETUSA host families are volunteers who open their homes and invite our students to become a part of their daily life. Each student also has a local CETUSA Community Coordinator who supports them through every stage of their program.
