Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Developing Champions in Life Through Excellence in Swimming
RENO Aquatic Club is a non-profit organization that subscribes to a philosophy of teaching and training that provides for maximum long-term benefits for its swimmers both in and out of the pool.
The center of RENO’s coaching philosophy resides with the building of a foundation of strong technique through fun structured practices. Leadership and accountability are two essential "life skills" we strive to develop in our athletes.
For close to 40 years we have consistently produced national caliber athletes. Included among these elite swimmers are National Champions, Olympic Trial Qualifiers, and American Record Holders. Most significantly, our team has had over 80% of our graduating seniors go on to swim in collegiate programs.
Reno Aquatic Club offers a supportive environment in which kids and youth learn to swim and swim competively. Younger and beginning swimmers can gain confidence in small, low-key "Twilight Meets." Experienced swimmers compete at the regional and national level. Competitive swimmers form lasting friendships and learn life skills like setting goals and working toward them through hard work. Coaches are supported and coordinated by a parent board. Volunteers help host swim meets and time races and organize special events. Some train to be swim officials.
