Mission Statement

At Shelterheouse (formerly Drop Inn Center), our goal mission is simple - as a community of residents, staff and volunteers for the men and women of the Greater Cincinnati area who are experiencing homelessness. Our primary commitment is to shelter - offering a place to stay for those in need now, and helping find and maintain a permanent place of residence for the future.

Description

The Drop Inn Center was founded by buddy grey in 1973. He chose to sign his name always in lowercase - even today, Shelterhouse keeps his "uncapitalized" tradition alive. His mission was to prevent people from dying in the streets of Cincinnati. So he opened his home to them. Our mission today is no different then buddy grey. Shelterhouse goal is to find a home for the homeless. Shelterhouse moves more homeless people into housing than any other agency. By the end of 2020, 192 people were housed, 85% remained in permanent housing and 85% maintained or increased their income.
