Mission Statement

AED-SATELLIFE's mission is to serve the urgent health needs of the world's poorest nations by stimulating the flow of information and creating local knowledge networks through the innovative use of information and communications technologies.

Description

AED-SATELIFFE is an international non-profit organization dedicated to building healthier communities in the developing world through the power of information and communication technology (ICT). AED-SATELLIFE strengthens the global health community by facilitating dialogue and disseminating relevant information on the world's most urgent health topics, including HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, cardiovascular health and more. We address this challenge by: (1) creating global communities that share information and support each other (e.g. electronic discussion groups); (2) disseminating up-to-date, relevant information to health professionals (e.g. HealthNet News e-publications); (3) deploying multiple technologies (e.g. PDAs) and building skills to utilize these technologies effectively. These efforts span the globe, with over 100,000 individuals in 159 countries sharing knowledge and building healthier communities.
