Mission Statement

Cicero Friends of the Park, Inc. is a not-for-profit advisory group established in 1995 to assist the Cicero Town Council through its Parks Department in serving the recreational needs of Northern Hamilton County residents.

We are dedicated to preserving and increasing quality recreational facilities and related programs in Cicero. Our vision is, that through parks development, we will have increased community prosperity, preserved the ecology and environment of the Cicero area, improved the health and safety of citizens, and have built and perpetuated a sense of community spirit for citizens of all ages.

Description

As a small grass-roots organization, most of our activities are aimed at surveying the needs of the community, advising the Town Council of our findings and recommendations, and providing assistance with fund-raising for materials, facilities, and programs to meet the community’s needs.

We seek funding through local and national grant-making organizations to help support the development and expansion of these facilities and the ecology of the town.

We plan and hold recreational events in the community to engage the community in its parks and recreational resources. Examples include the annual Sundays in the Park Concert Series, FREE and open for family members of all ages, teaching children to Fish & use water wisely, and the annual Indiana State Chili Championship.
