The Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad shall be the designated lead agency to provide emergency medical care and rescue operations to protect the lives and property of the population in the response area we cover. The Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad can also provide all services in it's mutual aid response area. The services provided by the Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas: Emergency Medical Services (our primary focus) Basic Life Support (including defibrillation) Rescue Operations
The Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad (CFA&RS) went into service on August 1, 1968 and, in that first year, answered 260 calls for emergency care. In 2003, the CFA&RS answered 1,428 calls. Thirty-six years later, our mission remains the sameÂ¦ to provide prompt emergency medical care and rescue operations to protect the lives and property of the population in our response area. As our coverage area - 48 square miles covering the Town of Clinton, a large portion of Clinton Township, and parts of Lebanon Borough, Franklin and Union Townships - continues to develop, so does the need for our services. The leadership of the CFA&RS has followed a disciplined growth plan to meet these challenges. Working in concert with professional financial and management consultants, several large changes have recently occurred : 1. In 2002, the CFA&RS took delivery of a new Dive Rescue Support Truck that replaced a 1989 ambulance that had been converted to dive team support use. 2. The opening of our new headquarters at 48 Old Highway 22 in the Town of Clinton. This new facility will carry us forward with room to grow! 3. The arrival of our new rescue boat, replacing a 1980's vintage Zodiac inflatable boat. Additionally, the CFA&RS plans to replace our 1970's vintage Boston Whaler in 2006! 4. The retirement of our 1986 Rescue Truck with a new 2004 model. The Line and Administrative officers, as well as our 71 volunteer and 18 paid members, welcome visits to our brand new headquarters on Old Highway 22 in the Town of Clinton (across the street from A&P). We are always in need of individuals looking to make a difference in the community! Now more than ever, the Clinton First Aid & Rescue needs your help! A 501-C3 non-profit corporation, we welcome all individual, corporate matching and memorial donations to assist us serve you in the best way possible! The Clinton First Aid & Rescue Squad utilizes a combination of paid (6am-6pm, M-F) and volunteer (remaining hours) Emergency Medical Technicians, with approximately 71 volunteer members at this time. The squad operates 4 ambulances, a rescue truck, a marine support vehicle, 2 boats, a command vehicle, a technical rescue services trailer and a first responder car.
