Mission Statement

The Marian College EcoLab, developed and maintained in the tradition of Marian College's sponsorship value of Responsible Stewardship, will provide hands-on, experiential environmental and historical learning opportunities for the students of Marian College and area schools as well as the local community. Responsible Stewardship involves the preservation of native biodiversity while encouraging the educational impact of the Ecological Laboratory.

Description

The Marian College EcoLab is a 55 acre wetland/forest located on the northside of campus. It has a great natural and historical importance for Indianapolis. The EcoLab is utilized by the faculty, staff and students of the college as well as the surrounding community. School groups come to the site for organized field trip activities. There are also nature programs for the general public.
