To provide free state and federal income tax preparation, counseling and electronic filing services with special attention to those age 60 and older.

Description

AARP Tax-Aide, the nation's largest, free, volunteer-run income tax counseling and preparation service, is administered by the AARP Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, nonpartisan organization affiliated with AARP. Last year in California, 2,704 volunteers helped more than 158,811 taxpayers at over 639 sites across the state. Persons comfortable with computers are in great demand. Volunteers are asked for a minimum of 4 hours per week over the 10-week tax season.
