Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

It has been proven that youth are less likely to partisipate in risky behaviors (drugs, alcohol, teen sex, violence, etc.) if they consistenly take part in positive community programs. At the same time good health and sucess in school increase when youth take part in community program.

Description

Every Wednesday we do a youth program from 1:30pm t 4:30pm where we average about 30 kids. We start off by letting the kids do their home work, followed by a snack. After that we play a couple of "minute to win it games". Finally we split the kids up by age and gender and they participate in classes where they learn/do fun stuff and earn emblems.

The aim is -

  • To aid in the growth of young boys and girls in regards to their physical, mental, and spiritual needs.
  • To provide a safe, organized, faith-based program for young boys and girls.
