Description

MCRC serves the minority and low-income residents of Manchester and the employers of Greater Manchester by helping residents to attain self-sufficiency. This is accomplished by providing access to employment, education, information and referral in a multi-cultural environment. Programs are designed to promote the development of each individual's work-maturity competencies, emotional growth and social development through the acquisition of appropriate skills, knowledge, and attitudes. MCRC offers numerous programs to assist Manchester's residents in becoming viable members of the community. An employment program assists customers in obtaining the skills needed to secure, retain and/or upgrade employment. An education program assists individuals in gaining the skills that will lead to self-empowerment and economic self-sufficiency through activities that may include but are not limited to GED, English as a Second Language, job specific training, and computer training. The life skills program assists customers with parenting skills, financial management, nutritional and social skills. Supportive services offer programs such as IRS Tax Preparation, Household/Personal Goods Program, and referrals on an as needed, individual basis.
