Mission Statement

PJ LIBRARY is a Jewish Family Engagement program implemented on a local level throughout North America. We mail free, high-quality Jewish literature and music to families across the continent on a monthly basis.

Description

PJ Library is a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, made possible through partnerships with philanthropists and local Jewish organizations. Today, families in hundreds of communities across the United States and Canada are able to explore the timeless core values of Judaism through books and music.

All families raising Jewish children from age six months through 5 years old are welcome to enroll in our local community.

The PJ Library books, noted for their high quality, beautiful illustrations and compelling stories, exemplify the best of children’s literature. Our age-appropriate book and music list is chosen by foremost early-childhood educators and literature experts. The Book Selection Committee is devoted to choosing stories that represent the broad spectrum of Jewish families today. Many of the books have won prestigious awards including The Caldecott Medal and The Sidney Taylor Award. The PJ Library books will be treasured for a lifetime. Every book is accompanied by a PJ Library reading guide to help families make the most of each selection.
