Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
To Protect the people of Amador County from the catastrophic effects of wildfire through public outreach, education, innovation and action.
The Amador Fire Safe Council promotes Take Responsibility, Fire Safe and Firewise landscaping and home hardening. In addition to public education, we implement hazard fuel reduction projects throughout the county as grant funding is available. Projects are determined through the Community Wildfire Protection plans.
We also sponsor the Amador Animal Disaster & Evacuation Group and the low income senior Firewood Bank.
We partner with the California Fire Safe Council, Firewise Communities, Interfaith Food Bank, US Forest Service, Calfire, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Amador Animal Control, Amador 4H, Master Gardeners, Amador Calaveras Consensus Group, Sierra Business Council, Sierra Nevada Conservancy, American Red Cross, and numerous homeowner associations in the county.
