Mission Statement

Mission Statement: The San Diego CHOICE program provides comprehensive services for at-risk youth, which are designed to stabilize behaviors, increase independence and self-sufficiency. These services are accomplished through intensive, community based, family oriented interventions, which foster positive growth and empower youth and families.

Description

We have four locations: Mid-City (City Heights), San Marcos, Imperial Beach and El Cajon. Our youth, who range from 9 to 17 are with us for four month intensive periods where we make contact with them on a daily basis and provide resources and assistence to them and their families. To effectively do this it is important for us to have lots of volunteers. Depending upon interest and commitment levels, volunteers can get involved at many levels from one-time or occasional event assistance, to more regular mentoring type roles. We will have regular recreational events in which volunteers can get involved with the planning/networking of events themselves or simply showing up that day to help out (very important) in various ways. Most recreational and community serivce events will be on Saturday's. They will range from beach clean-ups and planting trees to rock climbing, softball games or going to sporting events.
