Mission Statement
In St. Paul's public housing system, public computer labs are a vital link to society for many of our residents. As many of our community members do not have access to the Internet in their homes, our labs are often the only place where they can be connected to the online world. In an age where many essential tasks have moved almost exclusively online, from filling out a job application to checking their children's report cards, we are committed to keeping public housing residents connected to the world.
Description
We are looking for volunteers to help supervise our computer labs during the day and help residents with basic computer tasks, such as formatting documents and setting up email accounts. Knowledge of common software such as Microsoft Office is helpful but not required if serving only as a lab supervisor.
Depending on what time you are scheduled to work in the lab, you may be working with kids or adults. We currently have service sites near the Capitol and on the North End, West Side and East Side of St. Paul.
