Hospice of Broward County Volunteer Services Department’s mission is to positively impact the people of Broward County, by providing responsive and excellent customer service in meeting the needs for volunteer support and to exceed the requirement for volunteer contributions.

Description

Vigil Volunteers are specially trained Hospice of Broward County volunteers who sit with a dying patient to provide a comforting presence, and emotional and spiritual support at the end of life. Vigil Volunteers support the family as well, helping as needed. For families who cannot be present, the Vigil Volunteers provide them solace knowing that their loved one is not alone. Their calming presence helps to ease some of the stress during this very difficult time.
