Mission Statement

Recycling and Columbus were meant for each other, which is why the city named its new residential recycling service RecyColumbus. The name is designed to show Columbus' pride and excitement in being a greener community and that our city is enthusiastic about recycling.

Description

The new residential recycling service is being rolled out to eligible households of four attached units or less that are not part of a complex. Not every household will begin recycling at the same time. The program will be rolled out according to existing yard waste collection routes beginning with homes in Phase 1 that currently receive yard waste collection service on Monday. Those that receive yard waste collection service on Tuesday, Wednesday and so on will follow. Recycled items will be collected every other week, alternating with yard waste collection.

This month, starting on April 16 th, 64 gallon blue recycling carts will begin to be delivered to residents living in Phase 1. Carts feature a lid to prevent litter and wheels for easy maneuverability. All eligible households will be automatically enrolled in the program and there is no additional cost for the service.
