The Living Well Ministry

The Living Well Ministry (TLWM) was organized in 2003. It is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization designed to help families of children in foster care achieve greater success in regaining custody of thier children and/or supporting birth parents in making responsible decisions that ensure permanent homes for their children. The ministry helps families by providing support services and assistance to birth parents of children in foster care. The ministry utilizes trained volunteers who serve as Birth parent Mentors. (Volunteers 21 years of age or older). Birth parent mentors work closely with birth parents of children in foster care to help them understand and navigate the foster care process which includes understanding the Juvenile Court system. Birth parent mentors are utilized to help birth parents improve performance skills such as parenting, home managing, and decision making, and self ehancement skills such as improving the way parents think and feel about themselves, and their role as parents. TLWM is a faith-based organization. It's services are geared toward helping birth parents in practical ways to discover who they are and their value and worth as human beings. Birth parent mentors work closely with birth parents for six to twelve months consecutively. Durning that time they work to help parents meet the requirements of the Permanency Plan, responsibl e parenting, how to organize and plan daily living, manage income, home and create a safe home environment. The Living Well Ministry is about family restoration; It is about building healthy families mentally, physically and spiritually.
