Independent Living Housing, Inc. (ILHI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established for the charitable purpose of providing life skills and educational services to learning disabled youth, young adults and adults in Metropolitan Detroit. We are looking for folks to volunteer to teach stress management classes such as a nurse, social worker, psychologist/psychiatry. We are also looking for someone to teach financial Literacy who is certified and work readiness classes one day per week for 1.5 hours.

Here is short description of Independent Living Housing: Independent Living Housing (ILH) was formed in 1998 as a non-profit community-based organization. Our mission is to provide independent living programs for teens and young adults who have learning disabilities and who are members of low to moderate income households. ILH serves people between the ages of three through twenty-six years. Our vision is to create an environment where the learning disabled can meet their maximum potential and become productive citizens. ILH is committed to helping the individual succeed by offering learning disabled and developmentally delayed individuals rewarding programs. The programs also serve as an alternative to drugs, alcohol and tobacco use; criminal activity; and other high-risk behaviors.

Report fundraising ideas for review and approval by the Board. Develops a calendar of fundraising events/activities. Proposes a list of resources and the budgets for each approve fundraising activities. Manages the ILH display tablet at each event. Develop activities that will generate income for the organization.
