Mission Statement

The mission of the Lake Traverse Animal Rezcue is to rescue and rehome abused, neglected and unwanted animals on the Lake Traverse Reservation. In addition, we will provide education to the public, advocate for law changes, search for funding for programming, including but not limited to free spay/neuter and transport of animals to other rescue groups.

Description

Our rescue is headquartered in Sisseton, SD, but also has volunteers in the Twin Cities (MN). We foster animals in the Sisseton area until we are able to find rescue and set up transport for the animals to go in to other rescue groups. We run multi-leg transports most weekends, so each driver drives a 1-2 hour leg, before passing the animals on to someone else. Because of this, we need volunteers from Sisseton, SD to Alexandria, MN to the Twin Cities.
