Description
Located in San Pablo, California, Mary's House is a nonprofit residential facility for women age 18 and over who are pregnant and in crisis. A woman who is referred to Mary's House may be experiencing poverty, homelessness, family violence, a lack of prenatal care, or another situation that jeopardizes her well-being and the future of her unborn child. Although Mary's House is run by a Catholic nonprofit organization, applicants are considered for residency without regard to religious affiliation. As space allows, we may also accept homeless women who are not pregnant.
By providing a supportive family living atmosphere, Mary's House offers a safe haven while attending to the emotional, spiritual, educational, and occupational development of each resident. During pregnancy and for up to six months after her baby's birth, each resident is encouraged to work toward her educational and career goals while preparing to live independently.
