Mission Statement

Animal Place rescues neglected and abused farmed animals, provides sanctuary, and nurtures compassion through the promotion of a plant-based lifestyle.

Animal Place's Rescue Ranch rescues farmed animals, rehabilitates and rehomes them.

Description

Animal Place is one of the oldest and largest sanctuaries for farmed animals in the country. Our 600-acre sanctuary is home to more than 200 rescued chickens, cows, turkeys, pigs, sheep, goats and rabbits. The animals come from farms, cruelty cases, slaughterhouses, auctionyards. They live out their lives at the Grass Valley, California sanctuary. In addition, Animal Place offers tours, workshops, classes and educates visitors and the public on farming and a vegan lifestyle.

Animal Place's Rescue Ranch is located on 60-acres in Vacaville, California and specializes in the rescue of "spent" hens from egg farms who would otherwise be slaughtered. Chickens and other rescued animals are rehabilitated and medically treated, then placed into pre-approved, qualified homes.
