FUSE/NSCC Upward Bound

North Seattle Community College Upward Bound is proud to announce the addition of the FUSE mentoring program to our services. Mentoring research demonstrates that providing young people with consistent adult support through a well-supervised, frequent meeting, long-term mentoring relationship improves grades and family relationships, decreases the chances of dropping out of school, and helps prevent the initiation of drug and alcohol use. FUSE promotes responsible, structured mentoring that focuses on the needs of the mentored participant. By participating in FUSE, Upward Bound students can benefit from caring and supportive relationships that encourage them to grow and develop to their fullest potential. The mentoring process will help build participants' self-esteem, increase their interest in higher education, and contribute to the development of a vision for the future.
