Mission Statement

The Uinta Headwaters Resource Conservation and Development Council is a community-based, nonprofit organization. Ongoing assistance helps citizens sustainably manage and protect natural resources while improving economic and environmental standards. The Council works in Summit, Utah, and Wasatch Counties .

Description

In 2011, the Council continues its work on helping communities develop and promote regional food systems. The council partnered with Summit County to create and administer Summit County Beef (see their page). The council partnered with the Park City Leadership class in creating Summit Community Gardens (see their page). The council cooperated with Recycle Utah to host the Harvest Festival in Kamas (see Harvest Festival Page) and the council is working on Community Forestry (see page). Comming up soon, the council is creating a web site to help farmers, home owners, community garden members and local citizens a place to list their fruits, vegatables, honey, and other food products for sale to restaurants, individuals and markets.
