Mission Statement

The Hunger Action Network of New York State is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization of soups kitchens and food pantries, faith-based groups, community organizations and low-income families whose goal is to end hunger in New York.

Description

We pursue our mission of ending hunger by addressing its root causes in two ways by: 1.) Working with community members to promote city, state and federal policies that help people move from poverty to decent paying employment and an adequate safety net for those who cannot work; and 2.) assisting communities throughout the state to increase and disseminate nutritious, affordable food to low-income neighborhoods.
