Mission Statement

The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA's mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals, prevent cruelty to animals and provide education to enhance the human-animal bond.

The work we accomplish would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers. We have three locations, employ over 300 staff and rely on more than 2,000 volunteers for their time, love, and support.

Compassionate, dedicated volunteers are needed in all areas of our shelters.

Description

Serving San Diego County for 123 years, the agency provides vital services to animals and people alike through sheltering and adopting animals, providing positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable animals and for owned animals through public training classes, investigating animal cruelty and neglect, providing adult and youth education programs, sharing animals through pet-assisted therapy, and rescuing animals in emergency situations. A private nonprofit organization that receives no public funding, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA is supported solely by contributions, grants, bequests, investments, and some fees for service.

I have been taking care of all different types of animals, since I was a young child. I still have that energy and need for me to go above and beyond to help all animals. I also believe every living thing should have a chances at life. I have 4 year old english bulldog "pumba" and he my best friend. I hope i can have the chance to make a difference, and become one of the team members at the human society.

I think that it is really important to take care of our pets and animals in general.Compation and love can make a difference. I love animals and I had always wanted to volunteer in any association that help our pets to find a new home where he/she will be happy and loved.
