The purpose of the organization is to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs; to stimulate gifts and bequests of books and money; and to provide financial assistance and to support volunteer in-library services needed to meet the library's daily operational requirements and material purchase.

Description

The Friends of the Sun City Library is an auxilliary support group for the Sun City Library, Menifee, California. Our volunteers operate a bookstore and hold fundraisers, the profits from which support the library's programs and purchases of collection, media, and software.

Retired Seniors need to keep busy. I have been volunteering since 1997 and consider it my "going back to school" considering the experience in various non-profit organizations as well as the National, State, and County Park Systems. Each one has been different and very enjoyable.
