Mission Statement

Our mission is to create nonformal, educational opportunities to help youth thrive in a complex and changing world. Michigan 4-H Youth Development mobilizes volunteers and communities to meet the needs of youth.

Description

Michigan 4-H Youth Development mobilizes volunteers and communities to meet the needs of youth. Washtenaw County 4-H is part of the Michigan State University Extension Children, Youth and Families Programs which has programs in all Michigan Counties. Michigan State University Extension Programs and materials are open to all without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, or family status.

Though the office is located in Scio Township in the Washtenaw County Western Service Center, the opportunities to contribute to the lives of young people in Washtenaw through 4-H take place throughout the county. Upcoming expansion work will be taking place in Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, for example, working with local schools and in community group settings.
