Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our mission is to stop the spread of HIV, STDs and Hepatitis among increased risk populations. We strive to reduce the impact of drug and sex related harm to the communities of Alameda County by addressing health disparities, external barriers and increasing access to basic needs.
Casa Segura helps individuals get the help they need. Our clients frequently experience unstable family situations, poor health, unemployment, homelessness and mental illness. Most are people of color who are affected by prejudice related to race and class. Most recently, our client base has grown to include youth ages 13 to 24 years old. Sex workers and sexually exploited teens also seek support from our agency.
We offer a safe place where people at risk can come for counseling, testing and referral services that help them address their risky behavior, make healthier choices and lead better lives.
We provide comprehensive risk reduction services that include free showers, free laundry services, a food pantry, a safe place to rest and come off of the streets, HIV testing and counseling services, along with STD testing and treatment. Our staff conducts Outreach in Alameda County to distribute hygiene kits, snacks and risk reduction supplies like condoms. Another big component of HEPPAC is our Syringe Exchange Services. We provide a hot meal, wound care, and exchange syringes at 2 separate sites two times every week.
