Mission Statement

The Kirkwood Public Library is dedicated to providing information services and resources which enrich, entertain and educate the community.

Description

Kirkwood Public Library is a Municipal Library located within St. Louis County. We are open 7 days a week and have 22,000 card holders.

We offer a collection of 111,000 items that includes multiple copies of best-sellers; a large collection of DVDs and music CDs; audio books in all formats--CD, Playaways, and downloadables; and of course plenty of books, both new and old favorites.

Our building has wireless access to the Internet, public access computers, passport application, proctoring, voter registration, extensive youth, teen & adult programs (over 1,700 patrons of all ages participated in the 2011 summer reading program), online databases accessible from the library and from home, and a beautiful gift shop, Books & Beyond, run by the Friends of Kirkwood Public Library.

We offer a friendly, knowledgeable staff who put the patron first. Food and drink are allowed throughout the building.

We offer an average of 32 programs a month attracting over 1500 patrons of all ages.
