Mission Statement

The Park West Lions are a group of men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes in the Manassas, Virginia area and the world community. As part of International Lions Clubs, we are part of the world's largest service organization. We conduct fund raisers and service projects to help those in need. The Lions' motto is "We Serve."

Description

For more than ninety years the Lions have been recognized throughout the world for their service to the blind and visually impaired. A majority of the world's eye banks are established and supported by Lions, as are hundreds of clinics, hospitals and eye research centers. One such center, the Virginia Lions Eye Institute, is located at the Fairfax INOVA Hospital. Over the forty-five years of existence of our Lions club, countless members of our local community have been helped with free quality eye care, eyeglasses, eye surgery, guide dogs, hearing examinations and hearing aids, that they would not otherwise be able to obtain. We also support various youth activities such as scouts and baseball teams. We own and maintain a cabin at the Northern Virginia Youth Camp located near Paris, VA. In 2001, we opened the Park West Lions Community Center located just off Sudley Road at 8620 Sunnygate Drive. This center is used by the club for many of its functions, many other community organizations use the center and it is available for rent by residents of Prince William County and surrounding areas. Of course we also collect used eyeglasses for cleaning and reuse at our satellite location of the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center of Northern Virginia
