Description

Since its incorporation as a non-profit organization in 1963, the primary long-range goal of the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation has been the reconstruction of El Presidio de Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara's 18th century birthplace. About the size of a city block in the center of town, El Presidio is a living history site interpreting the Spanish, Mexican, and Native American heritage of Santa Barbara for students, the local community, and visitors from all over the world.
