Nebraska Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP)

Description

Through a statewide network of 350 trained and certified volunteers, Nebraska Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) provides free, unbiased information and counseling about Medicare to seniors, disabled people and others.

SHIIP offers locally-based, personalized counseling about Medicare options and benefits, helps resolve health insurance problems, and provides support to people with Medicare. SHIIP provides consumer education at public presentations and other outreach activities. SHIIP maintains a library of over 100 reference publications about Medicare and related insurance issues.

A division of the Nebraska Department of Insurance, SHIIP is federally funded. SHIIP does not sell insurance or recommend policies, companies or insurance agents.
