Mission Statement

The mission of HOSTS is to help improve the literacy of children who are academically challenged in the areas of reading and language arts. By providing on-on-one mentoring , from community volunteers, the children show dramatic improvements in reading skills, and have higher state test scores. The children in the program are always eager to attend HOSTS sessions and they develop a great relationship with the mentors. Their self-esteem, in and out of the classroom, is also positively effected. The HOSTS program is proven to be a successful mentoring organization.
