Mission Statement

We organize a spring Earth Week/ Arbor tree planting on campus as well as a fall Sustainability Week tree planting.

Description

The plantings are part of an extensive program of activities that occur as part of Earth Week (spring) and Sustainability Week (fall). We have a committee consisting of the Campus Landscape Architect, Grounds Manager, Forestry Department Professor (and Arboretum Committee Chair) and Sustainability Director who determine location, secure trees, recruit volunteers and do all 'game day' planning and activity direction. We have been planning the plantings since 2007 and the actual planting is led by students in Forestry and Horticulture. We are an Arbor Day Foundation Tree Campus USA.
