Mission Statement

Our House Inc.'s mission is to provide healthy and stimulating environments for people with developmental and other disabilities, as well as those in the community-at-large who may be in need of support services. Our House residences, employment services, and social programs help them achieve their full potential for living meaningful and productive lives.

Description

Founded in 1980, Our House, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization that provides residential, employment and recreational services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Our first home opened in 1980 in Summit, NJ and we have steadily grown to 25 residences throughout Union, Essex, Somerset and Morris Counties.

The goal of Our House, Inc. is to promote a high quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. Services are designed to be flexible, in order to meet each individual's unique needs. A strong emphasis is placed on enhancing community involvement and participation, as well as helping individuals develop meaningful connections to community life. Individuals are encouraged to make independent choices about their lives, with support from trained and caring staff.
