Mission Statement

The Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust (RMCLT) mission is to provide quality, affordable housing for low-income families in El Paso County and the City of Colorado Springs. While our core mission is affordable home ownership, we also collaborate with other non-profit organizations to address housing needs across the community, such as transitional housing and affordable rentals.

Description

RMCLT sets a goal every year to partner with another 10-20 low-income families in homeownership by reducing the "housing affordability gap" in our community. We do this by leveraging funds from throughout the community to invest 20-30% of the purchase price of a home, thereby lowering the monthly mortgage payment and making homeownership affordable for low-income families. Through the Land Trust model, every time we invest with a family in the purchase of a home, that home becomes permanently affordable, helping to ease the burden of rising housing costs for future families and shrink the future affordability gap.

Since our inception in 1996, we have partnered with 216 low-income families in home ownership--that’s 298 adults plus 214 children for a total of 512 people helped in our community!
