Description

Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca / Lathrop is part of a nationwide affiliation of local, autonomous organizations, and of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Together with these affiliates, we are working to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. Facility-based, employing 16 paid professional staff, supplemented by 100 part-time volunteers, the Clubs offer daily access to a broad range of programs in five core program areas: Character Development & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. Today, more than 2000 kids, ages 7-18, are taking advantage of the programs, activities, and services provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca / Lathrop. They benefit from trained, caring , professional staff and volunteers who help young people take control of their lives, envision productive futures, and reach their goals. The majority of our Club kids come to the Clubs voluntarily to participate in our programs and to be with friends. Others are referred to Boys & Girls Clubs by school counselors. Some are served through collaborative programs with other organizations, and through neighborhood events and community service projects sponsored by the Clubs.
