Mission Statement

The mission of Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas is to restore the lives of abused children by supporting local Children's Advocacy Centers in partnership with communities and agencies investigating and prosecuting child abuse.

Description

The abuse and neglect of children in our nation continues to occur at an alarming rate, in part because of the myriad of complications inherent in cases where the primary witness is a victimized child, and, all too often, the offender is a member of that child's family or household. For this reason, citizens throughout Texas have established local Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs)- realizing that this unique model affords them a vast opportunity to improve the way their communities respond to these cases, bringing together the public and private resources necessary to effectively meet the needs of these young victims and affording them a promising future. Just as CACs provide the coordinating force that allows diverse agencies and disciplines to do the difficult work of investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases at the local level, Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc. (CACTX) provides similar support for the many centers throughout the state. CACTX is a statewide association that promotes the efforts of the local CACs by coordinating and providing training, technical assistance, resources, and funding.
