Mission Statement

Scout’s Honor Rescue is a group of volunteers committed to saving animals, many of which might otherwise fall through the cracks at shelters and traditional rescue groups.

We work with owners hoping to educate them regarding behavior issues, housing issues, and alternatives to re-homing their animals.

Many of the volunteers have years of experience that they are anxious to share to help owners, animals, and potential adopters. We share information regarding animals in need with people we trust to help them, people that will put the best interest of the animal first. We also educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering all companion animals.

Description

Scout’s Honor Rescue, Inc. (SHR) was formed in May 2006 and is often the last resort for animals who are left abandoned to die in pounds or on the streets.

We rescue animals from Houston and surrounding areas, includingmultiple animal shelters. Scout’s Honor also takes in animals living on the streets.

We do not limit our program to healthy animals or particular breeds, and we often save animals from abusive situations. SHR provides these beautiful creatures with a second chance to be placed in loving, permanent homes so that they can receive the love and attention they sorely deserve.

Since our formation, SHR has rescued over 2,000 animals and currently has over 100 dogs and cats in our program!
