We exist to preserve the natural and cultural experiences of the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area for the future by serving as a catalyst for projects and programs that connect people to place for the prosperity of all.

Description

Canalway Partners , founded in 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio, continues to work towards its goals of enhancing recreational, cultural, historic, and economic resources in Northeast Ohio. Future goals include completing the Towpath Trail from lower Harvard Avenue into the Flats, building Canal Basin Park, erecting the Hulett Ore Unloaders at a permanent site, enhancing the National Scenic Byway, and marketing the Ohio & Erie Canalway as a regional and national travel destination.
