Mission Statement

PAWS of Coronado partners with the City of Coronado to function as advocates for the animals residing in the Animal Care Facility and to facilitate the adoption of these animals into foster and permanent homes thus ensuring their long term safety and well being.

Description

PAWS of Coronado manages the city of Coronado's Animal Care Facility providing shelter and finding homes for orphaned cats and dogs relinquished by their guardians, stray or abandoned cats, and animals rescued from abuse or neglect. Stop in and visit the many animals we help and have available for adoption - make one of our friends one of your very best friends!

We are committed to 100 percent placement of adoptable animals and envision a time when every friendly, healthy, homeless animal in our community can be cared for until a new family is found.

Our animals are extremely socialized, relaxed, trusting and loving in large part to our cat petting and dog walking programs. The caring hands and hearts of the volunteers help the animals thrive even in a facility environment.

  • Raise funds for animal welfare
  • Encourage and assist with adoptions of homeless pets
  • Help maintain a no kill animal care facility (with the exceptions of terminally ill or vicious animals) in Coronado
  • Facilitate public awareness and education about animal welfare
  • Encourage spay and neuter programs
  • Assist feral cat programs with trap, spay/neuter release program
