The Care Extender Internship Program at the Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center provides hands-on experience for those interested in the health care field. Interns will work directly with patients, doctors, and nurses in up to four different departments per year for at least four hours a week. Departments include: Critical Care, Neo-Natal Intensive Care, Labor & Delivery, Emergency Room, Operating Room, Post Partum & Newborn Nursery, Medical-Surgical Ward, Ambulatory Care Unit, Les Kelly Clinic, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Pharmacy, Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care Unit and more.
