Mission Statement

For Chicago youth who desire and deserve more, MetroSquash combines academic support, competitive squash, and enrichment to help them realize their fullest potential and make their mark on future generations.

Description

MetroSquash was founded in 2005 as an after-school program for under-served students in low-income, under-performing Chicago Public Schools on Chicago's south-side. MetroSquash is a disciplined and selective program whose goal is to significantly improve student's academic, athletic, and personal performance by providing students with academic support, mentoring, squash instruction, cultural enrichment, and community service opportunities. Using the game of squash as a hook, MetroSquash addresses the needs of these students by providing a comprehensive after-school program that is free of charge. MetroSquash aims to help students build strong academic and athletic foundations that will enable them to succeed and gain acceptance to their best fit high schools and gain admittance to and graduate from college.
