Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. It's message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Description
The Salvation Army, in the event of disasters, provides on the scene services to emergency personnel as well as to victims. The Salvation Army Social Services program include providing food, clothing vouchers, gas vouchers for medical appointments or employment, utility payments, rent assistance, emergency lodging and assistance with prescriptions. Seasonal assistance includes providing food and toys at Christmas, annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner and Thanksgiving Baskets, Dress A Living Doll, and a Back To School Drive.
