Description

The U.S. Committee for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-USA) generates support in the United States for UNDP's mission and programs that improve the quality of life for millions of people around the world. UNDP does this by promoting democratic governance, poverty reduction, crisis prevention and recovery, addressing energy and environmental issues, and reducing the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The work of the UNDP-USA is distinct from UNDP. UNDP is the United Nations Agency responsible for the day-to-day implementation of programs in developing countries. UNDP-USA supports this work by raising funds and educating people in the United States about the invaluable work that UNDP is engaged in around the world. The U.S. Committee for UNDP is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995. Contributions to the U.S. Committee are tax deductible.
